The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival is held at the beginning of May and features a Celebrity Crawfish Eating Contest, Cajun dance lessons, a Zydeco Dance Contest and Bouree Exhibition. You can spend your day learning Cajun cooking techniques, participating in a Zydeco dance event, and sampling delicious Cajun food and crawfish dishes throughout the weekend! This family-friendly event is the recipient of the LAFF Festival of the year Division II (multiple times) and has been named in the Top 20 Events by the STS Society. CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, The Food Channel, PBS and numerous other individual filmmakers have completed documentaries on this festival. This is a festival goers "must attend". Of course, it wouldn't be a festival in South Louisiana without the gathering of world famous Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop musicians.
